Updates!

Hello everyone!

Just one more week until Thanksgiving break, and then can you believe it?  Nutcracker!  Just a few updates to take note of:

• We will be taking a SRD picture to put on a "Happy Holidays" card that we will be sending to the faculty and we want YOU to be in it!  That picture will be taken before warm-up at 5:40 p.m. on Thursdays, December 5!  Wear your Nutcracker T-shirt or red/green!
• Our next meeting will be Tuesday, December 10 at 7 p.m.  Those in Acting for Dancers will be excused.  The acting performance is at 8 p.m. so be sure to stop by and watch after the meeting to support your fellow dancers!

Thanks for a great Pledge Ceremony!

Thought I would share some pictures from the pledge ceremony on Sunday!  Thanks to all members who came and congratulations to the official pledges for this year!  We can't wait for you to become official members of SRD!  Also, I hope you all enjoyed the bagels and cream cheese!  I know I did!  Yum!!  Pledges, be thinking about T-shirt designs for Nutcracker (we are getting excited to see your creativity!!)  Remember, our next meeting is this Tuesday!!  Have a relaxing and enjoyable fall break!  And Happy Homecoming!!  Stay safe! :)

Getting into the swing of things!

I hope everyone's first week of Nutcracker rehearsals have been fun, productive, and hopefully not too stressful!  Here is a picture of Patrick Hinson's rehearsal of Spanish!  Looking good!

One favor to ask of all you wonderful people: could you post any pictures on the SRD facebook page that you would be willing to have in a Shutterfly SRD book?  That would be very helpful!

Reminders!

Updates!

Today, Tuesday, August 27 is Block Party from 5-7!  We hope to see you at our booth!  We will have brochures set out for the freshmen telling them who we are!

Ice Cream Social is this Thursday, August 29 at 6:30pm after the department meeting!  Come hungry for Brics!

Our first official meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 3 in LH133 at 8pm.

Please note that chapter will now take place at 8pm (no longer 9pm)  every other Tuesday in LH133.

Don't forget to sign up for the Indianapolis City Ballet Gala!  The Gala will take place on Saturday, September 7 at 8pm at the Murat Theatre!  Sign up on the SRD website: https://sites.google.com/site/sigmarhodeltabu/home

Interested in taking a master class with Gillian Murphy in the Butler studios?  The Indianapolis City Ballet's master class series begins Sunday, September 8 with two classes taught by Gillian Murphy (11am and 1:15pm) and a 30 minute Q/A session in LH310!  Look on the Indianapolis City Ballet's website for details!  There are still spots left!

3 More Weeks!

It's getting closer and closer to the start of a brand new year!  We are so excited to meet and welcome 32 new dance majors to our program!  Don't forget that our first department meeting will be held on Thursday, August 29th at 3:45 in 310!  Hope everyone has had amazing summers filled with fun, sun, and of course, dance!  See you all soon!

If you have any ideas that you would like to see implemented starting in the Fall, please contact our new President, Catherine Jue, with any thoughts!  This is much appreciated!  If anyone has any news that they would like posted on this blog, please let Taylor Fengya know!  Have a great summer!
